	While carrying out our interior painting services we: Mask off and protect all working areas. Carry out full interior preparation work. Caulk all wood trim, filling holes and cracks. Sand all wood trim and clean down before painting. Rake out all cracks and refill. Tidy and Hoover at the end of each day.(We only use our own Hoover, not yours).

Exterior Painting.

Preparation is key to the end result. Exterior painting normally involves a lot more preparation work than interior painting etc. The preparation work involved on an external project can be as much as 50-70% of the job. So it may appear to you that the work is taking a long time to get to the final painting stage, but you want the paint to last and you also want it to look real good. Only premium quality paints & materials are used from the initial preparation to the final topcoat to ensure that your home painting project, whether it be internal painting or external painting, will stay beautiful for years to come.

Some of the Trade exterior paints we use are Crown Stronghold, Dulux Weathershield, Sandtex, Sadolin, Sikkens. There are plenty more trade paints available, but these are the regular ones most people ask us for and we are happy to recommend.

	It’s all in the preparation! Exterior preparation process: Scrape/sand all loose and peeling paint down to a sound surface. (Sometimes scraping and sanding the existing paint is not enough. Burning the paint off may be necessary to obtain a sound surface ready for painting). Spot-prime all bare surfaces with sufficient primer Wash down chalky and mildew areas with a fungicidal wash (allow to dry) Caulk windows and door frames with acrylic caulking Glossy existing paint is sanded to help the new paint adhere better We mask up or remove hardware to protect it from paint Wood knots are shellac primed to prevent them from coming through the finish coat Rusted metal is spot-primed with rust primer Getting any damaged or rotten woodwork/trim replaced As you can see the preparation is pretty extensive. During the preparation stage the ground around your property will get some loose debris that will come off the surface that is being prepared. This is unfortunately inevitable.
